Robert Miller – Portfolio Manager at NAOS Asset Management – only invests in industrial-type sectors. This is in line with NAOS core competency and Mr Miller believes that NAOS is better at investing in this area, than in any other sectors This means that NAOS doesn’t look to invest in sectors like mining or energy. Speaking on Reach Markets’ fortnightly ‘The Insider: Meet the Fund Manager’ webcast, Mr Miller identified three ASX-listed stocks he thinks could do well over the medium to long term.

Big River Industries (ASX: BRI)

Companies with exposure to building materials are well-placed to capitalise on the growing demand for construction in Australia, spurred on by a lack of affordable housing and government support in the form of HomeBuilder grants. Building material wholesaler Big River Industries is one company Mr Miller likes in this space, likening the more than 100 year old company to a Bunnings for tradespeople. Experience Co. (ASX: EXP)

Adventure tourism company Experience Co started life in 1999 as a skydiving business – a market it currently has an approximate 70% market share in. After a series of misplaced acquisitions, new management and board were brought in to rationalise the business, and Mr Miller said NAOS are big backers of this team. They managed to survive 2020 with flying colours, by not raising capital and paying down debt The establishment of a premium adventure category with targeted acquisitions in the walking sector, tailors the business to another demographic. Mr Miller said pent up demand from COVID-weary consumers will underpin this industry’s growth in the future Click here to watch Robert’s insights on Experience Co.

Objective Corporation (ASX: OCL)

The last of Mr Miller’s picks was governance software provider Objective Corporation, which focuses on software for regulated industries. The board of this company currently hold over 65% of the business, which Mr Miller noted may scare some investors off, but added this appeals to him because he likes the company’s management to be aligned with investors.
