The latest edition of the ASX Options Trading Game is set to launch on 1st September, and to kick things off we have opened its sandbox to players wanting to test their theories. The Options Game Sandbox gives traders of all experience levels the opportunity to try out new strategies and experiment with riskier trades without jeopardising their standing in the official game or putting their hard-earned in real danger. It’s also a chance to practice trading using some of the most powerful technology available, giving you early access to all of the tools, analytics, live dynamic data, and the options calculator. To access the sandbox, either log in to your existing Options Game account for traders who have played before, or sign up here for new players. The Options Trading Game offers a realistic simulated market environment where you can learn how to trade like a pro without spending any real money. The rules are simple: Maximise your return on $50,000 of virtual cash over 4 weeks. The trader with the highest returns wins a $500 cash prize. In the last game, trader Tom Giggles managed to double his money in a market that mostly dragged sideways, thanks to a long call on Telstra shares which would have tested the nerves of many traders. In most cases, traders using a long call want to see markets move quickly and make gains – something which failed to materialize for much of Mr Giggles’ trade. But he held his nerve and sure enough, just before July Telstra shares gained and Mr Giggles came away clean. The ASX Options Trading Game is 100% free* and also gives you access to online education, designed to give you insight and confidence when trading.  Over the course of the first game this year, we ran The Trading 360 Summit, a five-week trading education webcast designed to help you double down on your learning.  Each week, professional traders shared their favourite trading strategies, their approach to picking direction and how to manage trades. You can catch up on the previous round of The Trading 360 Summit here.
*The ASX Options Game does not have any registration fees or charges. It provides you with free access to the options game website for as long as the game lasts. Trading options is not suitable for everyone. There is a risk that you can lose more than the value of a trade or its underlying assets. You should only trade if you are confident that you fully understand what you are doing.
